I am a relatively newly married woman who is the proud mommy to four animals.  Max and Oscar are our two cats and Maggie Mae and Phoebe are our two Shih Tzus.  I am so in love with my babies.  Here is a little bit of our story.

When I was living by myself, over a thousand miles away from my family I got a cat from the humane society. His name is Max. He looks like he's wearing a tux. So handsome. When I brought him home the lady from the humane society said that he was abandoned early and would be clingy because of it. Boy was she right! But he's my boy and I love him.

Around a year later I got Oscar from a vet. He is an orange cat who's tail is about four inches wide. I think both my boys have longer hair than I do. It took Max a little while to warm up to the idea of another male in my life but eventually he came to love Oscar like I do. Oscar is our little trouble maker. He reminds us of a stereotypical surfer dude. He's very laid back, but when he wants to make trouble, you'd better watch out. He will get into anything and everything if you're not watching.

Then I met my husband to be. Max was really angry about that one. Oscar was enough for him. Like I said, nine months. Now they love each other very much and Jeff (my husband) is a cat lover just like me.

In 2008, I was working at a dog friendly office job and someone brought in their new Shih Tzu puppy. I was immediately smitten. I came home and told my husband that we were getting a puppy. He didn't believe me at first, but when I wouldn't stop talking about it three days later, he knew I was serious. I think within a week we were the proud parents of Maggie Mae, our beautiful white and black little girl. She looks a little like a dairy cow so she's earned the nick name Maggie Moo. She lives and breathes fetch. When we first brought her home as a puppy, I thought she wouldn't be the first one of my furry children who didn't know how to fetch so I started teaching her immediately. BIG mistake. It's all she ever wants to do. We love her so much!

Since the cats didn't love Maggie Mae like we had hoped, we decided to get her a little sister about three months later, plus I needed to even the odds in the house with another little girl. That's when little Phoebe came to live with us. She knows fetch like Maggie Mae, but unlike Maggie Mae she doesn't live for it. She likes to torment the cats. She doesn't ever do anything to them except creepily stalk them. She'll just sit there and stare. She's our little cutie pie.

I am also the owner of YAY, Good Dog! Doggie Barkery, an all natural, wheat and gluten free doggie barkery that is just starting out in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

My passions are animals and writing.  I'm sure a lot of my hubs will involve, if not my pets, then pets in general.
